Terror Life & Death

Picked up another copy of this a couple of weeks ago.

Terror - Life and Death

I already had a copy of this 7" with the Zero Tolerance cover (another record I thought I'd written about on here but turns out I haven't) but I couldn't resist picking up a copy with the standard cover.

This is a second press copy of the record on blue and white mix vinyl, it's of 1460 copies so is far from rare but it's another record for the Terror and Reaper collection if nothing else.

Live By The Code

It took me longer than I would have liked to get this record. A Terror record being released would normally mean I'd be pre-ordering straight away, but man, those postage costs from America these days just annoy me, so once again I held out for a UK distro to come to my rescue.

I ordered the record blind but it turned out well as this black and red split with white splatter vinyl version of the record was actually the version I thought looked the best anyway. This version is of 500.

This record in sound, title and artwork seems to carry on nicely from where Keepers Of The Faith left off. Scott and the gang by this time have got this shit down and they can keep producing records like this for years for me, there's something I like about knowing exactly what I'm going to get from a Terror record.

In their quest to spread the good message this record comes with a 'bandzine' which is essentially a nice thick inlay booklet full of photos, lyric explanations and scene codes and messages. It's fairly cool and is exactly the kind of thing that separates records from Cd's and MP3's. You can't flick through the booklet whilst listening to the music when you just download on iTunes.

For a comprehensive look at all the different versions of the record that have been released in this first press check out Willem's piece here R.W.H.A.F - Live By The Code

Catching Up With Terror

In my last post there was talk of featuring new releases...we should just ignore that for a while. Seems when ever I say something like that I do the exact opposite in my next write up. So with that in mind here's two more older records that I picked up recently that are replacements for there CD counterparts I had previously.
I've been pretty slow in picking up Terror records. I love the band but I guess that's kinda the problem, because I know the records so well I'm in no hurry to pick them up, I'm getting there though.

So first up Lowest Of The Low the bands 2003 debut record.

This is the third press of the record on blue of I believe 1000 copies

There's really not that much to say. It's an unspectacular pressing of a great debut LP. It's really annoying that I missed the earlier pressings of some records I really like.

I also picked up the follow up full length. One With The Underdogs

I've never really understood or liked this cover for that matter. It's pretty ugly and I think if they were going for something that embodied the spirit of the 'underdog' they could have come up with something better than this. One With The Hostage's and this might have worked.

Sorry about the glare on these pictures. The shrink is still on and it's caught the light way more than I realised. I got another later pressing here on white of 570 copies.

Lastly a group shot of the Terror full lengths I have on vinyl at the moment. Probably the most interesting thing in this post.

I still need Always The Hard Way and The Damned, The Shamed as you can see.

Triple The Terror

I apologise if this post looks a bit shit. For some reason I can't upload any photos to my blog so I'm having to do it with my phone.
Anyway, a pre-order placed what seems like months ago has finally arrived with me this week. Terrors new output Hard Lessons, which is acting as a taster for their upcoming LP Live By The Code.
It's more of the same from Terror, not that I'm complaining, it's all good. With this 7" it's actually the second track Only The Devil Knows that I prefer, it's a total high speed ripper!!

Three one sided colours were available. Red of 300, Gold of 700 and Clear of 2000. As usual with reaper the package for all three was pretty good so I grabbed them all. The Fact it's one sided seems a bit of a waste to me, think I'd have preferred a track on each side even if it meant the hassle of flipping the record when listening.

I'm looking forward to the new LP after this.

Festive Seasons Don't Fear The Reaper

Chortle! Sorry about that title.
Quick post as I'm just kicking about for a couple of recent Reaper Records pick ups.

First up Born From Pain - Warfare

I loosely collect Reaper Records stuff, maybe at some point I'll get a bit more serious about it but they are a quality label so for now when they release something or I see a release on eBay I pick it up if the price is right.

I'm pretty 'Meh!' about Born From Pain to be honest, their OK but I'm not mad into them but like I say it's Reaper so I was gonna have to get it eventually so when I saw it on eBay for a couple of quid I thought I might as well get it.

This is the 'dirty green' version of the record, which looks almost black until you hold it up to the light as you can see. 1000 of these were pressed.

I also got this a few weeks ago too.

It probably goes without saying that I already owned a version of this as I'm a fan of the band but I didn't have this particular colour vinyl. Of course this is Terror and the K.O.T.F EP that came out just before the Keepers Of The Faith LP dropped.

I love all the Keepers Of The Faith artwork and merch and what not for this period of Terror. I guess some people would say it's all a bit much and overkill etc but I dig it.

It was the blue version of the record that I already had but that's the most common version of around 1900 if memory serves. This is the 'Gold' version of 300 although it looks brown to me. It was nice to see the inner sleeve for the first time actually as my other copy is still sealed.

Records From Andras

It's a small world isn't it? It's an even smaller record collecting world. I was looking through the buy/sell pages of a forum I frequent recently when I spotted someone selling some things I wanted, so I sent them an email asking how much etc, on their reply I realised that the guy selling was a guy who had emailed me a couple of months previous to say he's read this 'ere blog. Nice little coincidence. Nice guy.

So that's the background. Here's what I picked up from Andras. Let's start with the three records that had initially caught my eye.

Terror - Don't Need Your Help b/w Push It Away

Terror's debut 7" from 2002 on clear vinyl, and it is super clear. I think they were all on clear and 1000 were pressed.

Blue Monday - What's Done is Done

I'd only just bought this record on standard black vinyl when I spotted this one. Hell, if I've got the black version I may as well have the red posi-fest limited to 100 pressing too right?

Most Precious Blood - Do Not Resuscitate

On green marble vinyl

Limited to 350 copies this is number 71

Whilst I was at it I also decided pick up a couple of other things from Andras. Mainly for the hell of it.

Rain On The Parade - Full Speed Ahead

This is the third pressing of the record, I know this because it tells me on the back cover. It's on what I guess is a yellow coloured vinyl.

Question! Do you ever pick a record up just because the kid in you loved that record? I do from time to time.

Biohazard - State Of The World Address

Working from memory this album came out in like '94 right? boy did the 14/15 year old me like this record. I thought it was the shits. I can vividly recall me and my friends of the time acting like tuff guys declaring that we were indeed 'brothers of blood' who were 'down for life'. Sadly we were more five streets from the bus stop than 'five blocks to the subway'. But yeah can't say I've listened to this for a while. This is a promo copy of the LP.

Lastly Andras chucked this into my package

A split 7" between Outlast and Crimethinc that appears to have been given away with a fanzine in '97.

I don't know a lot about it or about either band other than Crimethinc go to great lengths to explain their band name and the subsequent spelling and pronunciation of it on the centre of their side of the record. It's an Orwellian pun don't ya know!

Reaper Round Up

I've had Turnstiles - Pressure To Succeed 7" first pressing on blue vinyl for quite a while now and it's a record I just don't get bored of. It's a hell of an impressive debut, I like it alot. So when I read on Mikes blog that a second pressing had been released by Reaper Records on the far less exciting black vinyl I knew I wanted a copy of that version too. I didn't even know it had been re-pressed, I just can't keep up sometimes.

Anyway here they both are. 830 on Blue and 300 on Black:

So in order to once again make a dent in my own back log - whilst in the Reaper webstore I also picked up some other releases by them that I didn't have.

S.O.S - I owe you nothing. I actually did have this but on CD, which I sold so I had to pick up a vinyl copy. Black and Gold Mix of 450.

Naysayer - No Remorse. This is the second press on red of 980. It has the familiar Reaper Records centre that a few other releases by them also use, such as Trapped Under Ice - Stay Cold.

Terror - Rhythm Amongst The Chaos. Which has some sweet packaging.

and Death Threat - Lost At Sea. Blue Vinyl of 980.
