Feeling Flexi

The Flex release another chapter of the Flexual Healing series - this time in Flexi Disc format.

The Flex - Do Ya Think I'm Flexi?

The rest of the series has been tapes which I have no interest in at all but as this volume came in Flexi format with a sleeve I thought I'd pick it up. Do these guys love red or what?? Looking at their releases gives me a headache haha

I'll never actually play this thing for fear of it crippling my needle but it does look cool as hell. Despite the headache inducing redness I have to salute The Flex for sticking to the theme at least.

Wild Stabs In The Dark

This one snuck up on me. I'd been waiting for The Flex to follow up their awesome Scum On The Run release eagerly, and then all of a sudden one day I checked the labels website and it was there.

The Flex - Wild Stabs In The Dark

Keeping the theme of the debut release going with the all red cover and record The Flex have not let up an inch and have  delivered another awesome slab of Leeds City Hardcore. Sorry, but as I've said, it's my hometown and these boys along with a few others are doing us proud at the minute and are at the forefront of this hard as fuck 80's Boston style stuff.

As far as I know all of the copies of this record are on this red vinyl of which I believe there were 1000 pressed.

Had to take a picture with the Leeds scarf haha.

Scum On The Run

I can't remember who, but one of my fellow bloggers just described this 7" as 'Fucking RED' which made me chuckle as it's hard to get away from just how red and one coloured this thing is. This is the Scum On The Run 7" from The Flex.

Following in the footsteps of Violent Reaction and having a similar style as well as sharing a drummer The Flex are the latest band to be doing the early 80's hardcore/Boston Hardcore style thing and they do it well.

In fact out of these and Violent Reaction I'm gonna side with The Flex all day long as where as Violent Reaction are from Liverpool, The Flex are from my home town of Leeds. I'm not an 'LS4 Lad' though, these boys are posh compared to me. LS10 REPRESENT!!

This redder than red vinyl release is limited to 600 copies. With bands like VR, The Flex and Obstruct etc the UK is in pretty good hands at the moment
